Warrawong hydroponics setup discovered by Police

A man has been charged following the discovery of a cannabis hydroponic set-up in Warrawong.

About 1.30pm on Friday 16 February, 2024, Lake Illawarra Police investigated a home under a search warrant, on Flagstaff Road, Warrawong.

Police allegedly uncovered an established hydroponic set up underneath the house, seizing four large cannabis pants, 543 grams of dried cannabis leaf and lighting and equipment used in the cultivation of cannabis plants.

Electronic devices were also seized, for forensic examination.

A 65-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.

He was charged with cultivate prohibited plant, small quantity and supply prohibited drug >small and indictable quantity.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday 13 March 2024.
