Wollongong City Council has called in the heavy gear as the refurb of the IPAC continues.

A huge 90 tonne crane, to lift and place sections on the roof, with the crane winching pieces up to 40 metres into the air, to get them placed ‘just right’, Council said.

The works also includes heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, the replacement of seating in the theatres, carpet replacement and accessibility improvements, they still expect the centre to re-open in June.
