Take a tandem flight with an experienced hang gliding professional off of the popular Bald Hill in Stanwell Park. You’ll be flying in no time. Heart pumping, soaring 30 minute tandem flights are well worth the small expense, and after you get the hang of things, you have the opportunity to fly solo (with experienced pilots helping out through the whole process).
Hill 60 near Wollongong is another popular spot for tours to operate from. With expansive airborne views out to the great Pacific Ocean and the rugged salt-swept coastline of the Illawarra.
Always allow a little flexibility when planning a hang gliding trip as it’s totally weather dependant, but the good news is the best time of year is usually between September and May, so we’re just entering the perfect season to take to the skies.
